povfront04 (License: LGPL)

Small Interface to render POV-Ray-scenes.

important: use Version 06, that includes everyting you need. This document will be rewritten in the next days

Features

It directly can render .pov/.inc -files created with jpatch 0.3

Support to render coloured Trees created with arbaro 1.9.1

Currently supported platforms: GNU/Linux (Windows-Version follows this Weekend)

New:

Support for ac3d

Now it reads in an external texturefile (default: _povscenes/textures/mytextures.inc), and replaces the original textures with the textures from this file.

This allows to render this Frog, built with jpatch:

Instructions:

Extract to your HOME-dir. Install this beta-version of wxBasic, and copy the file wxbasic to /usr/bin. In Version 05, it is already included, no need to install it extra

Then type

cd
cd _povfront04
./runme

or click on "runme" in a file-manager.

To render your own jpatch-files, simply select your file as "scene2"

scene1 is needed to create camera , light and floor.

If you want to change scene1 (jpatch.pov or arbaro.pov) to use different lights or camera, save it as yourOwnName-jpatch.pov (yourname-arbaro.pov), then you may select it as scene1.
It must end with jpatch.pov or arbaro.pov so that the automatic fileconversion works.

Tip: howto render animations
Tip: to render scenes created with ac3d, select your scene as scene1, and delete the entry for scene2.
To do (maybe...): Allow to add more scenes, mixed together. This will take a while. Small grafical Interface to place the camera. More predefined scenes, with use of LightSys for realistic daylight. Save everything as project. Preview (without files to download): povfront 05
